After this assignment I probably will not be looking online for employment as much as I have. In our book we are told that searching online for jobs is one of the most ineffective ways. However, I did learn that it is a really useful tool to find what jobs that interest you are looking for and try to incorporate the skills you have into your resume. I think this exercise was helpful because it really taught me that you can't just have one resume. Each needs to be customized for eahc job you apply for.

  1. I too will be not looking for jobs online. I think it is a good way to see whats out there and get an idea for who is hiring but other then that I wouldn't submit my resume online or anything like that.

It also made me realize, although I have no experience in the work force, my athletic experience does actually pertain to many jobs which was a nice re assuring feeling.

  2. I agree with Brittany in that it is a good way to see what employers are asking for. Plus, it cannot hurt to post your resume and see if you get any hits.

But putting all of your proverbial eggs in the Internet basket is clearly not the way to go.
