1. How is writing for someone else challenging?
It's challenging because we are so used to writing for ourselves and it is very difficult to constantly be considering someone else and their particular audience, not yours.
2. How did your writing process change when writing for your client?
I feel like I was a perfectionist while doing this project. There was a lot riding on this and not only could we mess up our grade, we could mess up an opportunity to help a really great non-profit organization.
3. What did you learn about workplace writing?
I learned that work place writing is very professional and brief. It is better to leave out personal details when business writing and keep things short and to the point.
4. What would you do differently?
I would not procrastinate! My group tended to wait until the last minute to get things done and while we did produce a great product it was very stressful at times.
5. How would you explain business writing to other undergraduate students?
I would say business writing is a very good class to take and very beneficial. Even learning how to send a professional email to a teacher is something most undergraduate students don't know and someone that will be learned if you take this course.
